The Tree Farm
Established in July of 2002, River's Edge Farm is located on the banks of the beautiful Penobscot River in Greenbush, Maine. It's 80 acres
are comprised of forest land, pastures, Christmas trees and river frontage. Forty-five acres are in managed tree growth.
The goals for our "hobby farm" are based purely on pride and pleasure. We hope to improve the land for the enjoyment of our family, friends and neighbors. Many old logging roads criss-cross the property and the area snowmobile trail runs along the back. These trails are in the process of
being cleared and new ones cut. Some trails are ready for XC -skiing and horseback riding. The farm has 825' of river frontage enabling us to motor boat, canoe, kayak and fish off our own docks. The back acreage is great for hunting. Adjacent to this area is the Greenbush Boat Launch. There are approximately 500 cultivated Balsam trees in various stages of growth on the farm. We enjoying selling and donating our Balsam trees and making wreaths with family and friends during the Christmas season. In the process is the addition of duck nesting boxes and more blue bird houses.
Circa 1887 House
Old deeds to the property take us back to circa 1887. While in the process of remodeling this old farm house, we've found some interesting items in the walls from
those who lived here before us...bottles, advertising tins, marbles, a cloth child's book, smoking pipes, and more. Rumor has it that a civil war bayonet is behind one of the walls in a room yet to be restored! Old photographs of the house would be appreciated. Please contact us if you have any knowledge of the history of this house.
Our Animals
We share our farm with our horses, cats and dog.
We would love to hear from you!
